Home made Tower Hazzer

A quick idea, what I plan in the future. My kids just moved out of the house. I have now 6000 sq free and not used, I am thinking about renting it out to Hamradio operators for vacations with use of Equipment.

You can visit local clubs in the Triad Area. We also have the availablity of 3 VE's testers to make a USA licence for Europa Ham operators. (The US goes 2 times a year to Germany to make VE testing for Ovesea Operators). We are able to do it here, with photos taken on testing day. Special event on side at HF and D-Star at that day, ending with a grill party in the evening and much more.

Area attrections within a day drive are: North Carolina Zoo; the USS North Carolina, which allows operation from the new public hamradio room; Wet-n-Wild Water Park; Race Tracks in Wiston-Salem & Concord.

We are close to finishing a nice Fitness Room with Hydro Spa and Sauna .

Plan on having the completion of Renovation sometime the end of 2009. I would like to start the first of the year. I have been already ask by other Hams in Burlington, who can also host some more visitors.

I know this is a new type of vacation and not much is available on this planet. I am planning on taking reservation, but if space is available, I will take last minute booking.

Old remembers:How it started in Burlington. Testing started without gateway in Okt.2007

April 2008		It started in Oct. 2007. A german Ham Group from DOK F10 Werra Meissner ,taught me about Dstar. They just had a few Dstgar Radios at this time. I bought my fist D800, and traveled to Germany to find out more. after I came back I got the VHF Dstar repeater and Controller and Burlington was on the Air with my call sign AI4UE. KB4HG was already working at that time. I try to learn fast all I could about Dstar. In Jan 2008 until March the Repeater was without Duplexer on the City Garage K4EG. then back to the House, Duplexer Testing . Adding UHF also.. Then it moved to the final position at the Fire Tower Road, Snow Camp in Aug. 2008 Under the Eyes of Don Miller, HF Specialist all around, that System, now AK4EG, is doing better and better. We have spent a lot of time and money already on it to have it , where it is now ! And we're still not Finished! Also thanks to KJ4BEE, K4LAL and the Software master Ken KC4YOZ and Torsten DG1HT and Markus from Hamburg, Without these Hams with Amateur Radio in the Bood, it would not be like it is now, in Burlington, NC Big thank you to all, AI4UE Repeater Admin of AK4EG Repeater installed and on gateway G2 , first time April 2008

The new Add on Frequenz 6/12/08 6/20/2008 08/30/08		Dstar UHF Repeater is on order, will be shipped at 6/3/08 Will coordinate with the new Call sign AK4EG on 5/30/08 arrived on time now in June 2008 Duplexer adjustment in Winston Salem We have fun working on Ham Radio stuff WS4NC KJ4BEE AI4UE Uhf Filter RX In and out plug ,change from PL to N plug And test and test and test again, until reject is perfect and pass is on -122 db equal 2 db duplexer and filter lost we reject by 90 db UHF 87db VHF Repeater is on the Tower ,VHF and UHF is doing fine,,23cm work's great ! AT&T DSL is working great Dstar is growing up ,we added the new Repeater- 23 cm The 23cm transmits with good range (30 -60 miles), but can receive within a 70 miles range. No preamp. But it works from Mebane to Gibsonville and much more, real good. We adjusted the settings in the software, it made it alot better. The 23cm voice Repeater is installed and on air. It covers Burlington and GREENSBORO, Durham. Today added new transmit antenna,duplexer is out now. 1/23/09
